Content

Participants will leave with an understanding of why central cancer registries exist and learn more about “how the sausage is made.” We will discuss registry operations such as data processing, record linkages, record consolidation, data quality, edits, and death clearance. These are just a few of the operations required to ensure central registries are providing all stakeholders with the most accurate cancer data available. We will also discuss the process of producing the datasets needed for research, cancer control initiatives, & resource allocation. These data sets are required for understanding the burden of cancer in North America which is complex and involves many components.
