This 3-day pre-conference workshop offers an opportunity for world-class instruction in the area of cancer survival analysis. You will enjoy lectures and discussions with an expert faculty from the Cancer Survival Group at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Karolinska Institute and University of Ljubljana. They will cover the fundamentals of survival analysis, alongside cutting-edge topics. The course will cover all aspects of population-based survival, from data collection and quality control to the estimation of net survival, including the construction of life tables of background mortality. The methodological concepts of cancer survival will be illustrated by public health and policy applications. Recent survival studies will be presented and their interpretation discussed. You will be able to apply the methods to anonymised cancer data sets in daily laboratory sessions, using your own laptop. Digital copies of abstracts, slides, exercises and solutions will be provided.

This 3-day workshop has been modified to suit a North American audience, but it mirrors the 5-day course run in London every year for the last 17 years by the Cancer Survival Group, which also leads the CONCORD programme for the global surveillance of cancer survival.

This course will be held at the City Center Plaza Building, 777 W. Main St., Boise, ID 83702. (Classroom 260.) 4 minutes' walk from the Boise Convention Center.
